The Ghana Immigration Service Maritime and Coast Guard Unit hosted a six-member delegation from the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Danish Navy at the National Headquarters in Accra.
The delegation met with some members of the Operations and Command Posts Department to carry out a needs assessment of the unit to aid with the effective patrols on Ghana’s water bodies to fight against human trafficking, smuggling and stowaways. The Delegation lauded GIS for the swift establishment of the Maritime and Coast Guard unit.
